The Vintage Chevrolet Club of America's Lone Star Region...

...welcomes you to the LSRClub.org web site! We hope you find something of interest here. If you love Chevrolet cars and trucks, then you are in the right place.

Area 6 Director's Message

If you have not read the VCCA President’s message in the December G&D, I encourage you to do so. This is an important discussion and I need your input to guide me at the National Board Meeting in April.

Another topic: The Diamond State Region has voted to host our annual Area Six Joint Tour for 2010. It has been suggested that we skip the event the following year (2011) as that is our National Meet year, the 50th Anniversary of the VCCA and the 100th Anniversary of Chevrolet and many of our members are planning to attend this national event. Please discuss this at your regional meeting and let me know your feelings on this proposal.

I am pleased to be representing you for another three year term in office. My hopes are that I will bring the concerns and opinions of the members to the National Board and that I will also bring information to the membership so that I will be a true representative of everyone in Area 6. Remember that I am available to answer questions or help in any way I can.

Clay Perrine, Area 6 Director

Kroger’s Valentine Car Show

On Saturday, February 13, 2010, Kroger’s Grocery Store in Southlake, 2110 E. Southlake Blvd., Southlake, TX would like some cars from the ‘50s and ‘60s to be in the parking lot from 1 to 3 PM. Look at Mapsco page 26H for directions. Let Elmer Anderson (817-457-6225) know if you can go. You can show up at the last minute but they would like a head count so they can give us a bouquet of roses. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO THE LONE STAR REGION!

Membership Renewal Due for 2010

It is that time of year again. Membership dues for our local Lone Star Region are $12 per year, payable in January. Details are in this month's Bowtie Bulletin. Download the membership application.

Lone Star Region Makes Plans for 2010

Our new board met on January 9th to set the plans for the coming year. There are several people holding new positions on the board for 2010 and there will be plenty of chances for everyone to get involved. There were discussions of our swap meet and the annual Area 6 joint tour. The importance of all members keeping their national membership up-to-date was also brought up. Everyone is urged to keep current with their national VCCA dues so that they are eligible to have membership in the Lone Star Region. Of course, another topic of our first meeting was the 50th Anniversary Meeting in Flint in 2011. Even though that is 18 months away, the time will pass quickly and it is not too early to start thinking about going.

LSR Swap Meet Committee -- Needs You!

Two planning meetings have been held to get organized and to assign some of the swap meet duties. The layout has been drawn and the flyer is in the process of being made up. Laddie Kaska has volunteered to handle the parts hauling. Floyd and Wanda Blakeley have agreed to do the registration, and Roger Perez has volunteered to handle the advertising. A volunteer is needed to handle gate traffic. The Swap Meet Committee encourages all members to get involved and participate in the work that needs to be done to make our swap meet successful.
